Game has a lot to do. Every house that is outside of the towns and cities literally has some sort of secret. Either treasure maps, gold hidden, notes that lead to some sort of storyline, and at worse at the very least is has some dinasour bone or one of them cigarrete cards in there.

Most overrated game ever, most narrow gameplay ever on a AAA videogame, story is good but RDR1 story is simply better, the horse cock physics and effects are better than the combat mechanics, you can`t go to fucking Blackwater and it isn`t a videogame, more like an interactive movie with great visuals and simulation elements, voice acting , etc

but the game itself sucks so why does any of that matter. that's my problem with a lot of the AAA games. the gameplay isn't deep enough, fun enough, or challenging enough to make me want to find secrets or get upgrades

It's because the game is too slow so it's not made for the general public like the first one. You probably would like a lot 3rd person narrative games like Resident Evil, Uncharted, etc

However it's the most complete game that there is if you like slow games.

It's true that Rockstar shooting mechanics suck a lot. They are some of the worse that exist and i just can't understand why because they are the same people that made Max Payne 3.
