Reached agreement with mother over 12k rightfully belonging to me

So basically my grandfather saved money for me before his death, I was a very little kid back then

It totaled around 12k now

My first concern was if it was explicitly meant for college but I learned it was just meant to “help me out when I’m older””

The main obstacle was that my mom refused to put that money in my account, she said she could put it in her account for me

I said fuck no

I need like 6k for a car

But we came to the agreement that basically when we visit the place the bank is we will take out all the money, spend 6k on a car and upfront insurance and either put back the rest or put it in my real account. This will happen in May btw
