We have 3 layers of reality that we exist within:
Layer 1: Emotional monke brain. The purpose of this layer is to find pleasure at all times. Pleasure = survival. "Urgghh me hungry, me want pussy, ooga booga"
Layer 2: Your ego. Your character. Your player. The purpose of this layer is to act as an interface for interacting with reality. This is where your personality is and decisions are made. "Hmm, I'm pretty hungry, I'm going to finish studying before I get something to eat"
Layer 3: You. The observer. The real you. This is typically the voice of reason that hides in the back and watches for inconsistencies between Layer 1 and Layer 2. "dragons2246 is hungry but he decided to finish studying before getting food. This is pretty consistent with his goals and values."
"dragons2246 knows he shouldn't keep playing video games because studying is more important to his goals and values, but he decided to keep playing." (Your ego will eventually tune in on this and feel "self disappointment" or "shame" whether you're self aware about it or not)
Layer 4: Consciousness. The entire game were in as a whole. This is just pure awareness without identity. You don't have consciousness, you are consciousness. I'll explain this one later. Psychedelic bros know where I'm coming from on this one.
Here is a shitty example to put everything into perspective.
Imagine a fish (lets assume the fish doesn't understand that life outside of water exists just like humans don't understand whatever exists outside of 3 dimensions.).
So why the fuck does all this bullshit matter? Here's why.
With all this explained, I can now tell all of you what the meaning of life is.
The meaning of life is to satisfy layer 1. That's it. No ifs ands or butts. We solely exist just to chase pleasure. Pleasure = survival. We only exist to survive. Everything else is just extra bullshit on top of it. The ego and the real you (AKA the observer) only exist just to enhance your chances of survival as a biological being.
With that said, we are humans and we are unfortunately so fucking intelligent, we made survival a non-issue so now we are sitting around on org circle jerking and wondering what the fuck to do with our lives (most of us of course).
Here's the liberating part: You don't have to do anything. Just make sure you don't starve to death, drink water, have sex with bishes and go to sleep. Poop, piss. Have fun. THATS IT. Everything else is extra.
dragons2246, why the fuck does this matter? Because if you are able to internalize everything I wrote in this post, you can now understand the relationship between your monke brain, ego and the real you better. You are not your ego. You are not Tom. You are not Blake. You are not Chris. You are the one observing Tom, or Blake, or Chris or whatever the fuck your name is. Stop identifying with your ego as if your ego is You because it isn't!
Once you are able to fully internalize this knowledge, you will be able to live the rest of your life feeling free as fuck because you won't be a slave to your emotional monke brain and more importantly, a slave to your ego. Being a slave to your ego is why people have depression and mental health issues. Once you detach from your ego, you are in full control of your life and how you decide to feel, and what you decide to do. By default, our emotional monke brain and our ego work in conjunction to control YOU, THE OBSERVER. THAT IS REVERSE SLAVERY. HOW DARE THEY?? THE SLAVES CONTROL THE MASTER?? NO WONDER EVERYONE IS DEPRESSED.
Heres how to internalize this shit in your everyday life. Every time you feel an emotion such as stress or anger or sadness, say out loud to yourself "<your name> seems to be feeling sad right now>" "<your name> is very upset at person X because of Y."
By default, you're doing "I'm so sad" "I'm gonna rip this fuckers head off"
Stop doing that. Lol.

- The fish acknowledges/observes that it is hungry and is therefore making the decision to eat. Let's assume this fish is ultra intelligent like a human (Layer 3)
- The fish realizes it's not it's own individual self that lives in the ocean. The ocean and everything that exists in the ocean are all one. The fish is part of the ocean and the ocean is part of the fish. It's all a combined concept of existence.
