Is because we have less of it, on average, every passing day. Rich get richer plus the west has collectively gotten uglier and also standards rose as well, + mental illness. So a beautiful combo of total wealth/capital deprivation (genetic, mental-sanity, material-purchasing power, etc). And we worship what is scarce, with atheism and rationalism our only logical next step is the worship of materialism. Im not saying its a bad thing, because this is our group ethics/morality, kind of something you can't avoid but can recognize, based on the hierarchy of needs, due to scarcity. Its only natural. It's of course, however, a sign of decline. Like how culture got more sexualized and people worship sex more when they have LESS of it, another thing on the hierarchy of needs that populations are being deprived of. This means our cultures and societies are in their last legs, probably before a financial reset and a ton of deaths too, and a power shift. Either towards the masses or our slave owners (im tending to think our slave owners will win, Im a predeterminist + enjoyer of elite theory and nick land as well). Don't feel bad about being a materialist individualistic narcissistic moral relativist, just recognize you actually can't be anything else since you and your surroundings are in such a deprived state. You'd easily be this morally superior saint if society wasn't in a shitter. You don't determine group ethics or dynamics, or the future of your group as a matter of fact. You ain't steering the ship. So, be unapologetic in how you react to the world. Yes, this is why religious niggas are copers. You're just religious cuz u can't do shit in this materialistic world. I never read it but yea I assume cuz all he valued is being treated decently, in group approval/acceptance and access to basic social experiences. Since that was too much to ask for, he gained a materialistic view, hating chads and stacies cuz they're better than him, and also prolly started viewing number of slays as the only value of a person and determiner of success (as it was sorta the weakest link in his chain) since we worship what is scarce (by definition, even with conventional religion we worship the divine because it's scarce and hard to access)

so type shit atp all people were missing was spirituality in their life (spiritual needs on the hierarchy of needs) but today we see people saying that workers during fedual times had better working hours jfl (def not better working or living conditions though but oh well) so modern people on average aren't just missing spiritual guidance they're literally missing basic shit like sex and purchasing power and even mental health and a healthy diet. Like, if you're in the modern case, the LAST of your concerns is Christian morality and polemics and idealistic views that aren't even in power anymore so they're just idealistic abstractions that don't at all affect reality beside some observances it makes. So if people had enough wealth (and stopped worshipping it) and enough sex, they might turn their head next to reforming their group ethics back to ideals of religion. But until then (unrealistic) you'll keep seeing opportunistic feminism and hypergamy as the rule of the day, as well as low group cooperation/in group competition and low trust.
