I don't read books, I absorb them.

Depends what you’re into. There are endless books on very specific topics. You need to be more specific than mere non-fiction lest I recommend you a children’s book on the solar system.

That's kind of the point, though. I want to learn about different things that aren't even on my horizon. I can't tell you what exactly I want to read here, that's why I was hoping that someone here might have a gem for me.

Alright alright, to your question: I don't see the point in using physical mediums for information, the internet got us covered. We have whole databases that forward the specific information we seek with the press of a button.

Another case of lacking context. :cop:

I can’t provide you this gem. I’m unaware of the gem of all books. If you find a specific topic then I can help you.

Any piece of text/media would be fitting, you're right. I'm not reading them physically anyways: https://annas-archive.org/

I use books mostly for the old, lost knowledge, as well as the convenience of it all being there. The internet is fabulous but there is something incredible about hearing the old experts share their knowledge. It’s historically been done through books and the internet lacks it.

It’s why Python is taking the lead and the days of old-school, tough code are dying out. It’s a common problem in most industries: lost knowledge/experience.

I can't remember the last time I read a book that wasn't a textbook.

I recommend Reverse Engineering for Beginners by Dennis Yurichev

I think this is an English issue on my part, maybe. You could give me any book about any topic that you deem interesting / helpful, and I would take a look. People don't even read books, if I recommend a topic you probably wouldn't have read a book about it in your lifetime.

Check out 'never split the difference'. Really good read.

It was written by a retired FBI** hostage negotiator, and he goes through all the techniques he used throughout his career with examples, and then he explains how to apply it in real life situations
