Red/ginger dye inquiry

Currently natural ginger hair, personally i hate it and many peers do, i have a box of brown permanent brown dye and i have experimented with semi-perm brown dye in the past. But unfortunately met with a response of hatred as i’m known as ginger throughout my circle, for the benefit of unknown woman do i just permanently dye it brown or is there reason not to?
ps: have tried bleach before but unfortunately the at home bleach box just completely didn’t work despite 2 45min coats
