After growing up and learning abt the world. It's getting harder for me to believe that religion is real. However I do believe that it's existence is a good thing even if it's not real.
The first reason is the sense of community. Even though my faith in my religion is very weak, I do enjoy going to religious activities bcs I get to hang out with my friends
and talk to the huzz
. It makes the endless hours of rituals bearable. And I know everyone wishes it ends quickly so we can get to the fun part, it's just that no one dares say it
.It being a weekly routine of sorts also helps bcs it's a repetitive gathering that u can look forward to and not just a one time event.
Next is, it gives a shortcut efficient answer to almost everything in life so we can reach our goal. We dont need an accurate complicated answer,we just need one that is good enough so that we can achieve the end goal of life which is to survive and reproduce. Why shouldn't we hurt and take from others? Because a group of humans are more likely to survive than solo humans and internal conflicts will only hurt us all? No bcs God says it's bad.
Not only that,it also serve as a solid foundation of hope that everyone can rely on even if imaginary. Ever noticed that the chadest of chads are almost always religious? Maybe it's bcs the chads being the man amongst men are usually the one being relied on by everyone around them and they have no one above them to rely on. Having the knowledge that there's the big man God up there covering ur back is reassuring. Even for the lowest of low subhumans. It gives them hope that maybe if they just hold on to it,they will be rewarded. Think abt it,society need the Chad to lead and even leaders need a leader even if imaginary. And ofc we need the subhumans to keep slaving away, what if they realize they get nothing out of this and just decide to not contribute to society? Imagine all the wageslaves in the world just deciding to revolt or unalive themselves bcs they realize there's nothing good coming for them. They need to be sure that there's a reason to keep going. They're both lying to themselves but they both need the lie to keep going.
