Yeah some of it was weird but majority of the people didn't hold those convictions, they were just interested in a more radical movement as opposed to the pacifist movement pushed by Martin Luther King jr.
The organization lost popularity really fast with people like Malcolm X leaving siting irreconcilable differences with Elijah Muhammad the one who came up with some of those theories.

Well there is a distinct between polytheistic religion and monotheistic. If you call every polytheistic religion as distinct from each other then i guess it becomes a difficult job. Are they however distinct from each other? They seem to function the same in everything regarding thought, worship and beheavoir, the only diffrence seems to be geography.
Moving to abrahamic religion, we as muslims don't distinct our selves from christianity and judaism in the sense that they don't are disconnected from our world view. The claim is that their scriptures are from God but it is been changed.
Long story short there seem to be only 2 religions. One that is Abrahamic and the other polytheistic. Nearly all religion except the Abrahamic ones that are monotheistic seem to be polytheistic. Maybe you can count a few religions in between but this is not 3000. The case with atheism is that they give aspects what we would normally ascribe to God to the universe or the galaxy etc. This is the exact same principle what polytheists use namely giving attributes of God to a stone and hereby worshipping the stone instead of God.

Most religions in the world are polytheistic and very similair, only diffrence seem to be their geography. Atheism is nearly the same as polytheism.
Abrahamic religions and monotheist in broader sense are exceptional. We regarded historical christians and jews as muslims in the sense that there scriptures are legitimate but only through time became it corrupted.
Long story short there aren't really 3000 religions but a number in single digits.

No that is not what i am saying. They believe however that the universe it is self sufficient or eternal. These are clearly attributes that we would ascribe to God and they themselves give it to the universe. A form of polytheism if you will.
There is little diffrence between a second century volcano worshiper and a atheist. A volcano worshiper couldn't explain the volcano and made it "divine". The atheist can't seem to properly understand or explain the universe hence they give it attributes like 'eternal' 'before time' and so on. These are clearly not proven by sience but non the less for a atheist it is regarded as 'facts'
