Am a 25 and never worked out. 6'2", 160, got a set of resistance bands, the tube kind for now. Any advice on a plan aimed at that swimmer vibe? Not tryna be hulk. ELI5 plz

Resistance bands are dogshit

Not enough resistance in the eccentric and too much resistance in the concentric. They're only good for supplementing barbell exercises.

Free weight exercises like barbells >>>>> gymnastics/calesthenics type exercises > gimmicks like resistance bands and machines
 
Resistance is resistance just going with bands because it's easy for my apartment but more importantly i cba to go to a gym, too inhib lol
 
I'd suggest you just get some weights and do a full-body split 3x/week as a beginner.
 
No lie i don't know wtf that means. Dividing up exercises into 3 muscle groups to be done on 3 days throughout the week? Or 3 days of full body each week?
 
and if i buy dumbbells how tf do i know what weights do buy and then which to use when, am total nonce
