I see tretinoin mentioned as a staple for skinmaxxing, however, I can't get my hands on this currently. Would either retinol or granactive retinoid be a better choice when aiming to mimic tretinoin results?

tret is only required if you're a low responder to retinoids, you can absolutely just use weaker versions if you respond well to them.

thanks for the lifefuel, i am currently trying to decide between *Granactive Retinoid 5%* and *Retinol 1%*. do you have any insight into which would be preferable?

I started with a 5% retinol and maintain with a 2.5% now and have the same results most people on tret do.

i cant seem to be able to find any products above 1% retinol in my country (without a prescription that is), do you mean 0.5%?

the one I currently use is from Simia™

retin a is a joke start with 0.1 strength. dont bother with retinols

thanks for the help, getting the 2.5% to try what this does for me
retinol is preferably used at night because it makes your skin more sensitive to sunlight, which makes you prone to sunburn, and you still need to use a sunscreen even if you use it at night, I use matrixyl during the day which doesn't have this problem and works through the same pathway as retinol by increasing collagen production, but it's even weaker than it, seems to act faster though.

if you're from the netherlands which I assume from the name you can easily get a prescription for tret through menscript legally.

I get my finasteride through the same website so I know it's legit, noticed they had it, but it costs more than getting it elsewhere would, but the price of the prescription is included.

Retinol is literally just the way white teen girls cope with not being able to source Tretinoin. It may do something but it's generally just a waste of time and money.

so skip trying high dose ret and just jump to tret would be your suggestion?
