I’m majoring in Education. I’m studying to become a teacher! I like how nobody guessed it right. That’s why I always try to use proper grammar, and it’s also why I correct people’s spelling mistakes. Not to be a know-it-all, but because it’s literally going to be my job. So why not get into the spirit early on? The other day, @acm said interacting with me unironically improved his grammar. That seriously made my day. What more could a future teacher want to hear?!

Hahaha yeah, UNFORTUNATELY due to rotmaxxing so hard, I lost my social skills so I gotta work on that. Honestly I need to learn so much. I’ve never stood in front of a classroom yet but I will have to starting next semester (early 2026).

I didn’t want to at first. I wanted to become a male nurse. However my OCD got in the way. But I’ve always liked high school settings. Both of my English teachers back in high school said I should become one too, but I didn’t really want it at the time. I have since then changed my mind. My English is pretty good, but what they learn you is how to teach. Knowing English and the grammar is just one aspect of it and it’s not enough to become a qualified teacher. You need to know classroom management, create lesson plans, learn about how teenage brains work, etc. And a lot more stuff.

That’s my evil twin brother.” Tbh, it’s a non-English-speaking country, they wouldn’t call each other “truecel” or “subhuman.” But ngl, if I heard that, I’d laugh and crack jokes with the students. Then again, cracking jokes constantly isn’t good either: you need to show that you’re a figure who’s in charge, otherwise they won’t take you seriously.

Thanks, you’re right - it’s not easy but it’s doable, when I worked the furniture store job, I was suddenly socializing a lot. Everyone thought I was social. XD

One of the subjects I’ve got focuses on the (mental) development of adolescents. There’s a range of subjects that we get and have to pass in order to become qualified teachers. It’s a lot more than just knowing your subject.

According to literature, being all bhai-bhai with the students isn’t good because they don’t see you as an authority figure. As teachers, we need to find the right balance so that students won’t lose their respect.

Which lowkey sucks because I’m the kind of guy who’s very easygoing and chill, and not uppity at all. But during the course of my study, I must do that as well (being uppity, very serious, etc), otherwise I won’t pass. Sadly…

Haha I get where you’re coming from. My English was always much more advanced compared to my fellow classmates. I would often help them. I guess my English teachers in high school noticed this as well, so they recommended that I become one as well (which didn’t sit right by me, since my focus was on being a male nurse).

That’s very much true. But I’ll have you guys know I’m not even the oldest person in class! There’s like 10 others in total and they’re in their mid-thirties to early-fifties. The youngest person in my class is 21. If everything goes according to plan, I’ll graduate in my early thirties.
