Hello,

Lurking Grey that recently decided I had something worth posting so I've made an account and will be documenting this process, maybe can help some other retards reverse years of jaw damage leading to a horricilly tilted lower third.

Background:

I am 20, 135 lbs, 5'10.5 in college, currently sophomore year.

Chewing on a single side started due to tooth pain around the middle of high school. Needed to have a root canal done, but life happened, and I was just living with the pain by not chewing on my left side at all. I was perfectly straight-faced and symmetrical before this happened. Still, when I went to the dentist recently, I was still getting comments on my teeth and asked if I had braces, a pretty common occurrence since I was young. So, NO, this is not a result of needing braces when I was younger and simply not getting them. I will need to get my wisdom teeth out, but not due to lack of space, as all 4 came through flawlessly. I just wasn't brushing correctly. The two upper ones have large cavities in them:feelswhy:.

Another thing to note is the slight TMJ on my left side. Doesn't click all the time, but it will occasionally click. However, I am happy to report that the number of clicking and squishy sounds has decreased since I started this 2 1/2 weeks ago.

Beginning

Now that background is out of the way so retarted mfer's don't fuck themselves up more instead of going to the ortho. I am also currently talking with my dentist now that I have started going again. Below is a drawn picture (traced over in photoshop avg high inhib grey moment, but I also think it helps condense the point)

Side profile before ignoring the horrible hydroid bone. I'm over what I should be in body fat rn and need to do some exercise to help with it. it's already getting better rn

Before Teeth

You can see the significant tilt of my mouth; it's extremely obvious in pictures as well. I've kind of deduced that I have some combination of torsion and side-bending rotation. It seems fixable since my jaw mostly developed before I started this asymmetry, and as I'll talk about later,r can be brought back into alignment, so I'll need to keep an eye on my teeth occlusion changing as well, as that will tell me I'm on the correct track.

Below, again, you will find a photo taken today (matched for lens distortion as best I could, +50 photos in my camera roll)

Current
All of these were taken later in the day to reduce any lingering effects of the mouth-guard from the morning.

After 2 1/2 weeks, 4/2/2025, already showing a reduction in the tilt of the mouth

New teeth alignment + mouthguard photo - not much change, but even just putting in the mouth-guard shows a much closer alignment of the teeth.h

Speaking of the mouth guard, as well as its quite insane waking up every day. When I wake up and take the guard out and close my teeth, the alignment is completely different, just an entirely different bite. It retains the alignment when closing the mouth for the first hour or so, but it will slowly move back to the worse non-guard alignment. I think that is pretty significant proof that if I can lengthen/untighten the left masseter, my lower jaw will naturally fall back into place.

Outro

I'll be giving updates not as frequently as 2 weeks but maybe more bi-monthly as If I had to estimate, this will take 6-9 months to bring to a much more reasonably level. So the main points that I would like to bring into balance is

1. Tilt of lower jaw when opened
2. Deep stretch in left jaw when opening mouth wide
3. Tilt of lower jaw when closed, mouth tilt by proxy
4. Ability to swing jaw to the left
5. The ability to open the mouth much wider without feeling a crazy stretch on only one side

The plan for this is the following.
1. Diet being brought into line. eaten like shit since senior year hs, and regular junk during hs, luckily my Mother was big on healthy eating
Hopefully will trigger my body to kickstart into high gear and start losing some sutures
2. Eat natural food snacks throughout the day, but do not chew hard chewing gum
Things like carrots and other hard items where our ancestors would've had to bite down much harder
3. Mouthguard at night
Bad habit of clenching, working on keeping mouth loose during day
4. TMJ exercises/ isometric stretches
Relax the jaw muscles and slowly start activating the left side to lengthen and untighten
5. General Exercise - severely out of shape even though 135lbs
Going to be doing soccer/track conditioning, as that is what I'm used to for exercise also too socially anxious to the gym; rather be outdoors anyway

If anyone else has any suggestions or ways to keep more accurate records or ways of speeding/tracking progress, please don't hesitate to say something. Information about how teeth change occlusion over time would also be helpful if anyone has experience with their changing.
