do you actually have ADHD? I recommend taking long acting medication over Ritalin, like concerta, as these have better effects.i recently started taking 20mg of ritaline a day, im wondering does it affect my sleep and what are the side effects?
ok thanks, i dont have adhddo you actually have ADHD? I recommend taking long acting medication over Ritalin, like concerta, as these have better effects.
Ritalin in its IR form can be easily addicting (I've been addicted before, I would have to pop a pill every 30 mins and then crash completely).
One of the main physical symptoms are weight loss, insomnia and growth suppression. If you are not done growing, I would avoid it.
do u have proof?insomnia and growth suppression. If you are not done growing, I would avoid it.
yes there's lot of evidence which I will provide, but as anecdotal as it is, I'm living proof. I weighed 42kg (93lbs) after taking ritalin everyday (in relatively large quantities as my parents overdrugged me) at the age 19. I gained 13kg by cutting the dose in half in 6 months. As for insomnia every person who takes it knows that if you take concerta past 11AM good luck sleeping before 2AM.do u have proof?
Thank you but most developmental losses seem to be related to nutritionyes there's lot of evidence which I will provide, but as anecdotal as it is, I'm living proof. As for evidence, this studies acknowledges the effect of ADHD meds on height, although claims its effect to be small: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0149763420305923.
This study goes further and claims that the effect is significant not only in height, but also in weight and overall puberty development: https://www.mja.com.au/journal/2013...dolescent-boys-stimulant-medication-attention.
This other study goes a bit beyond and explores how it affects growth not just through nutrition but also through hormones: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S1096637424000261.
Now granted there are a lot of studies that say that there is very little correlation, but encourage you to read them, they are of terrible quality. Most of them do not take into account sustained use of medication, dosis, and consistency, they simply look at individuals who took it and those who did not. Also I personally believe these studies get pushed more often bc there are perversive incentives to favor the pharmaceutical industry.
If you still don't believe me, just answer me this, have you ever seen a fat meth addict? You haven't because they don't exist. Because meth, which is chemically similar to Ritalin, makes you very skinny, because it accelerates your metabolism and takes away your hunger.
Yes I agree. And ADHD meds deeply affect nutrition. You can literally go a day without eating on it.Thank you but most developmental losses seem to be related to nutrition
Also it depends on dosis in my opinion (although studies don't heavily back this up because there are very few on the topic). But anecdotally, I still take meds and they help me gain weight, because they are such a low dosis that it doesn't affect my hunger much. If anything they give me the energy to get up, cook, eat, exercise, etc.Thank you but most developmental losses seem to be related to nutrition
i’m struggling with my fatness. im 175cm and around 70kg. i’m not fat but skinny fat but i have very low confidence and cant get foidsyes there's lot of evidence which I will provide, but as anecdotal as it is, I'm living proof.
