After remembering what FitxFearless did by nearly making a young man rope I don't really see why Light just didn't do same thing.
The DN wasn't needed.
He's shown getting girls to like him quite easily and he'd even get L as a customer.
He'd sit in his chair and get millions of men to rope while making money.
