Minoxidil is a vasodilator that open potassium channels in the cells and prolongs the anagen phase.
RU antagonizes DHT at the receptors (but leaves dht levels unchanged).
Since DHT is what trims the hair follicles, androgenetic hair loss responds best to a DHT blocker, so RU is a better choice.
Both are non androgenic btw, so no interference with your puberty
