@WannabeJock @Thompsonz @n0rthface @TeraCope54 how on earth is this shit even possible? Everyone knew Russia's army was a paper tiger, but SERIOUSLY? Also yet again some general has died, because the Russians haven't taken the initiative and these generals will have to go to the frontlines to wave around and kick some asses, and then they're easy pick for Ukrainian snipers.

So what, it's just smart, knowing that Russia didn't want to attack the civilians to get higher compliance in occupied areas.

These planes have been modified as UAV decoys to expose remaining Ukrainian AA sites and portable AA units. Proven tactic during the Nagorny Karabakh campaign.

Case dismissed.

When dealing with an inferior enemy you can use older, outdated equipment and weapons, like if you fight against terrorists, talibans, ISIS, etc. - who don't have any planes and tanks you could use WW2 tanks and planes against them and still outgun them...

During WW2 the Soviets also used outdated biplanes to harass the German army, they were so slow that they were almost impossible to intercept by the German fighters who would simply stall if they tried to match their speed to shoot them down. They were also flown by women so the Soviets won points for promoting diversity.

I suspect these kind of planes would also be very difficult to intercept by modern fighters due to their very low speed and since they don't use jet engines they also have a low heat signature, so they would be difficult to shoot with heat-seeking missiles.
