Absolutely insane
Mitzer, painstakingly documents every confirmed photograph of a Russian loss. The count stood at 204 tanks and 406 other armored vehicles for a total of 610 lost as of Monday.
The U.S. Department of Defense estimated that Russia was losing about 50 vehicles per day. On March 8 they put the Russian losses at “8% to 10% of military assets.” By Sunday they put the total vehicle losses at 184 tanks and over 380 other armored vehicles (a total of 564). Saying that this is more than 8% of Russian forces suggests they believe the grand total is much less
There is simply no comparison with other wars. During the entire nine-year occupation of Afghanistan, the Soviets lost 147 tanks and 1,314 other vehicles , a total of less than 1,500, before they had to withdraw.
