We all know the world is filled with pure cope. Most people we interact with on a day to day basis aren't even close to understanding what in facts dictates their life, happiness, relationship success etc. Many people even on this site cope. Its likely that we all cope in some way or another. The question then becomes, which coping mechanism is the most psychotic, far fetched, detached from reality?

I'll go ahead and say that in the modern world, muscle mass is the most overrated cope thats out there. I lift, I want a good body, but realistically my chances with women will not really change at all if I gain muscle. My fat mass will determine my success because lower fat mass = more aesthetic face. But muscle mass is essentially irrelevant.

Other massive copes I think most normies would fall for are:

1. Game
2. Personality
3. Clothing
4. Networking

Literally all those things just goes out the window - if a girl is sufficiently attracted, it doesn't matter. I'm not saying those things combined can't up real world value or anything, but its just all massive cope because in the end, its all about the PSL + height and pheno. There are so many small copes we all consider important, but which fades once you introduce a truly aesthetic chad to the equation. That is the true test. If it doesn't matter for Chad, then it doesn't matter.

lol yeah imagine the amount of money spent on flexxing - from poor college students using all their money on their "car hobby" which is in fact just an ad-hoc coping mechanism - or lawyers spending half their paycheck to afford a lamborghini to make up for their subhuman aesthetics.

Well put, but I think Game and Personality are important.

They have to meet a minimum. For instance, yeah fashion/style is cope but you can't go around in garbage bags and smelling like piss and sour sweat all the time. Similarly, you need to have a minimum level of "game" and not be completely aspie. But for any normally functioning human being, its not going to save you.

Maybe you're a legit hobbyist that truly enjoys it, but if you ever drive down the road in a sweet car and get a rush of endorphins thinking about what people may think of you, you are coping. I think that sort of cope is completely hard-wired into us. There is a reason why most of us went through phases before even approaching the reality of the situation - that its all just cope.

Same, but you sound like a legitimate enthusiast - i.e not the kind of guy that has his life revolving around his trophy car. Obviously enjoying coffee or playing videogames or whatever isn't cope, so its not like we can't enjoy anything. I'm pointing my finger at the stereotypical "car guys".

Copes are there to make you feel better, and distract you from going ER
