Nah I'm British nationality wise I doubt they care about my ethnicity though, I assume the h1b ban applies mostly to 3rd world nations, also the landscape might be different when I graduate uni in 6 years

well, you have to hope things will stabilize or turn left in the US. H1B doesn't really care weather you are from a third world or not, I'd say the system favors volume and cost optimization, not nationality. Workers from poorer countries dominate because they’re available in large numbers and willing to accept lower total compensation, but the visa rules themselves are nationality-neutral.

At this point I'll give up on the American dream if it doesn't change and just move to an EU country like Norway or Sweden with better healthcare and standards of living since the salary barely shifts

We cant be 100% sure, h1b policies might change, don’t give up on your dreams twin. Just do your own research on the policies and job markets. You still have time.
