I've been scouted by IMG twice now, once in Sydney and once in New York...

I'm 18 and I've never done any modelling, don't know anything about the industry and have no headshots to submit (I need to get them taken externally).

Is it worth getting involved and pursuing a career? I know a lot of girls who model who tell me to pursue but don't know any guys who model, what is the experience like? Pls any advice

I mean I'd assume the agents would be top tier at IMG. I've been scouted by a few smaller agencies before but always thought it would be best to be with the biggest and most prestigious agency.

Why do you say agent is more important than the face though? In the end the face is the product.

Every product relies on marketing; if the marketing is poor, the product fails. Marketing adds value, similar to how the agent of Gandy's light blue campaign skyrocketed his career, before that, he only got average gigs. Without his agent's marketing efforts, he wouldn't have been hired at all.

First time was in Sydney, I was walking through Target and a stocky black man started running after me and shouting at me, obviously I ignored him but he kept yelling so I stopped and then he asked if I was a model

I said I wasn't and he said he was a scout for IMG, immediately I fixed my posture and sucked my cheeks in because I have been scouted by smaller agencies before but I always knew I wanted to be with IMG

I went to a party that night and was telling EVERYONE that IMG scouted me, it was like the ultimate status symbol of being hot

Anyway the second time was in Manhattan near times square a few weeks ago, I was walking with my family at about 10pm in a dark street and an asian man started running after us and yelling to stop

Immediately I thought he was either a fent addict or a model scout so I looked at his shoes and he was wearing sandals with yellow toenails exposed

I assumed fent addict so I kept walking until he physically stopped me and said "No seriously, stop, are you a model?" and then we started talking and exchanged details etc.
