Maximal dose-response of vitamin-K2 (menaquinone-4) on undercarboxylated osteocalcin in women with osteoporosis - PubMed
<span> Low concentrations of serum vitamin K accompany high concentrations of undercarboxylated osteocalcin (ucOC) and osteoporotic fractures. Although vitamin K2 (MK-4) is approved as a therapeutic agent for the treatment of osteoporosis in some countries, the dose-response is unknown. The...

Quoted for lazy ones : "However, compared to 5 mg/day, there was no additional benefit of 45 mg/day (%ucOC 4.6; p = NS vs. 5-mg dose). MK-4 supplementation resulted in borderline increases in γ-carboxylated osteocalcin (glaOC; p = 0.07). There were no major side effects of MK-4 supplementation. In postmenopausal women with osteoporotic fractures, supplementation with either 5 or 45 mg/day of MK-4 reduces ucOC to concentrations typical of healthy, pre-menopausal women."

Effect of low dose vitamin K2 (MK-4) supplementation on bio-indices in postmenopausal Japanese women - PubMed
It has been reported that treatment with a pharmacological dose (45 mg/d) of menaquinone-4 (MK-4) prevents bone loss in postmenopausal women. However, it is not known whether supplementation with low dose MK-4 has beneficial effects on bone metabolism in healthy women. The aim of this study is...

So it seems that Vitamin K2 MK4 has a biphasic dose response profile on physiology (like Red Light Therapy, cyanide, etc) where low doses do barely nothing in physiological response's aspect, a dose treshold maximizes the benefit response, but higher doses after a this dosage's treshold slow down the benefit's efficiency response to the point where the benefit's response becomes linear meaning than any substential increase will not growth the physiological response at all (or even the benefit reducing and becoming a malus for high dosages of more sensitive biochemicals substances or processes)
Quoted : " ... Vitamin K1 is reported to have an absorption rate of only 5-15% due to strong binding to the membranes of plant chloroplasts, thus hampering its bioavailability [11,21,25]. Some subtypes of vitamin K2, like MK-4, are absorbed poorly (10%) [26], whereas MK-7, -8, and -9 are absorbed nearly completely [27]. Another important factor influencing absorption is the food matrix, i.e., fat content of food that increases the absorption of vitamin K1 [28]. ... "
Due to the poor absorption of MK4 compared to MK7 even in fatty environment i recommend to take 1 to 2 pills a day to be sure than ur serum concentration is legitimately close to the dosage

Has Anyone Seen Facial Changes In Jaw And Cheeks From Vitamin K2-mk4?
I see people posting about how there jaw and face got wider from k2, but no one ever posts pics? Has anyone seen facial changes?

49 yo :
I also add in bonus a old Lady on RayPeat forum with a comparison between her 39 to 49 yo journey with a background of non optimal bone metabolism where she quoted taking a maximum dosage of 5 mg of MK4, u can see by urself (excluding any major weight gain parameter than she denied) than she didnt lose any bone mass in facial morphology aspect but even becomed more fuller and wider at 49 than 39
