Introduction
This was not conducted in a formal manner, so don't criticize me for "Where's your control" or "There lacks [Insert Here]". The next time I post one of these will probably include it.

Background
Disclaimer, I do have quite a low sex drive, so this should be an indicator that this likely has better effects at lower doses in men with healthy libidos.

Logic
It has been strongly suggested by the scientific community that prolactin is a hormone that plays a huge role in the male refractory period. When you orgasm, the amount of prolactin in your body skyrockets, playing a role in preventing you from going at it again.

When prolactin levels are lower, especially during post-orgasm, the refractory period either becomes shorter (noticeably) or is absent altogether.

A study where the prolactin levels of a regular and a multi-orgasmic male were measured. The prolactin levels of the multi-orgasmic male stayed remained roughly unaffected, while the regular males' prolactin levels rose after orgasm.

What we also know is that dopamine affects prolactin levels.

"Dopamine (DA) holds a predominant role in the regulation of prolactin (PRL) secretion. Through a direct effect on anterior pituitary lactotrophs, DA inhibits the basally high-secretory tone of the cell."

Basically...
  • If dopamine is high, prolactin is down.
  • If prolactin is up, dopamine is down.
Knowing this information I decided to take a dopaminergic herb called Mucuna Pruriens. Mucuna Pruriens has a compound called "L-Dopa". This compound helps your body make dopamine. When consumed, dopamine levels rise.

Mucuna Pruriens contains high levels of levodopa: https://www.intechopen.com/chapters/60608
  • "Mucuna pruriens is a tropical bean containing large amounts of levodopa"
Levodopa: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK482140/

What I used to do this experiment: https://a.co/d/0Ckr5kJ

Results

See the source image

The Average Onset Time for levodopa is 20-50 minutes (According to the internet)
The supplement I have has 30% L-dopa, so for each capsule, there are 450mgs of L-Dopa.
You don't want to abuse this though, it has lasting effects on your dopamine receptors I believe. You can feel it in your brain as well.

Control Test->
  • Educational Guesstimated Refractory Period Length: About 28.5 minutes (+- 3.3 minutes, in the range of 25.2 minutes to 31.8 minutes)
  • Refractory period length for control: 29 minutes
  • Started fapping immediately, no supplement was taken.
Test 1 ->
  • Refractory Period: 31 minutes, did nothing.
  • Dosage: 4 Capsules (1800mg of levodopa)
  • Started fapping 15 minutes after taking the supplement
Test 2 ->
  • Refractory Period: None
    • It kind of worked, I was still hard after, but I was in this very strange place. I was like 30% aroused but 80% hard. The next test was conducted a week later because I know I can't fap everyday or else my d*** can't quite function. I wanted to see if this influenced anything.
  • Dosage: 10 capsules (4500mg of levodopa)
  • Started fapping 5 minutes after taking the supplement
Test 3 ->
  • Refractory Period: None
    • Worked 75% Successfully. I was 90% hard afterwards and 65% aroused. I just wasn't interested in continuing to be honest, pornography is boring.
  • Dosage: 15 Capsules (6750mg of levodopa)
  • Started fapping 10 minutes after taking the supplement

Conclusion
It most certainly works, if I wanted to, I could have went for round 2 immediately and still be aroused if I felt like it because I was aroused (mostly) and hard (mostly), but completely demotivated. I do not know if I can give proper dosages, especially a threshold. This is because my libido is stunted, compared to your average user. What was the right amount for me may be overkill for you.

For me, here are my personal recommendations FOR MYSELF
  • Threshold: Around 7 capsules (3150mg of levodopa)
  • Full On Works: Estimated around 18+ capsules (8100mg+ of levodopa)
I've displayed this to show how I really think it depends on your libido, you'll need more if you have a lower libido and you'll need less if you have a higher libido.

Here are my guesstimates for people with regular libidos (please experiment and see what works for you first)
  • Threshold: Around 3-5 capsules (1350mg to 2250mg of levodopa)
  • Full On Works: Around 10+ capsules (4500+mg of levodopa)
Here are my guesstimates for people with high libidos (please experiment and see what works for you first)
  • Threshold: Around 2 capsules (900mg of levodopa)
  • Full On Works: Around 5+ capsules (2250+mg of levodopa)
You can also get pure levodopa powder as well and not have to get it via Mucuna Pruriens -> https://a.co/d/58sDWyN.
This bypasses having to take loads of pills to get the same amount of levodopa.

Or if you want something more potent, experiment with Cabergoline, does the same thing as levodopa but is stronger: https://otc-online-store.com/index.php?route=product/search&search=cabergoline

I do not know the dosages, ask @AlexBrown84 (which said Cabergoline worked in removing his refractory period)
Thank you for reading.

Mucuna pruriens is decent as a dopamine enhancer. Not completely effective though

Before when I used mucuna pruriens I felt good for the first 2 or 3 weeks taking it then it didn't make me feel anything anymore

I don't think soy is strong enough. Soy boys usually have beards.
Megadose soy. Soy should make up 100% of your diet.
Then become fat and take birth control pills.

One thing to consider while running is experiment is the Coolidge effect: the effect that introducing a second female reduces refractory period.
Might sound stupid, but if you're using porn and continuously change videos you're tricking your brain into thinking there are multiple sexual partners available.

I watched two videos, but the first was halfway through it, the second was played during the second half and the refractory period.
I never switched the videos as far as I remembered because I wasn't compelled to do so.

No evidence for prolactin’s involvement in the post-ejaculatory refractory period - Communications Biology

Valente et al. compared two different strains of mouse that differ in sexual performance. They found that prolactin is released during sexual behaviour—however pharmacological manipulation of prolactin demonstrated that it is not a determinant of sexual activity or refractory period. www.nature.com
For this study, it was...
  1. Conducted using rats, not humans
  2. Hasn't been replicated enough.
Not to say it's 100% bullshit, but we would need more studies like this, preferably in humans

And what do u think about using p5p or 300 mg+ of vitamin e to reduce prolactin?
They work, according to online sources but I think Mucuna Pruriens is better.

i feel blessed to have a low refractory period.
not that it has ever been useful yet :feelswhy:
