You always see people talking about “I went 30 days bro”
It’s a lifestyle. Counting streaks and seeing it as a challenge makes a relapse more likely
You have to want to retain to increase your serenity and feel free. Days don’t matter, as urges fluctuate
It’s been about 17 months since I started (not tracking it and being like “I need to reach ___ bro”, I just remember when I started), and it’s been mostly easy. But after seeing random porn ads and shit, I’ve been periodically mentally edging harder than ever in the last few weeks. Yet when I quit PMO when I started I never even really had urges to do it, despite having recently been frying my brain with PMO at the time
My point is you’ll have flatlines or start mentally edging at any point, even if you’ve had the mind of a monk for months. Instead of saying “I need to reach ___” and having an end goal, you need to just accept you will have ups and downs, but want to retain indefinitely because you feel how it improves your mental state.
