I’m 17 and currently a senior in high school, but it looks like I might have to stay an extra year as a super senior. I feel like I wasted most of my high school years isolating myself in my room. I’ve struggled a lot with my mental health and haven’t really had any friends I’ve avoided people my whole life. The schoolwork itself isn’t hard for me I just haven’t had the motivation to stay on top of everything. The idea of doing an extra year feels frustrating and I really don’t want to stay behind while everyone else moves on. I’m trying to figure out whether it would be better to finish the extra year and graduate normally or drop out and get my GED instead. I don’t want to make a decision I’ll regret later.

Talk to your counselor see if there’s anything you can do to graduate , maybe take classes in the summer idk dropping and ged is a hassle

Finish high school. Self studying for a GED is a lot harder than you think. Being realistic, you probably won’t be able to follow through with a ged. You’re 17 with a hard life, it’s tough and I get it, but try to integrate hobbies that you enjoy. The hobbie can not be something brain rotting like watching movies or scrolling on tik tok. You must be doing something like going to the gym or playing billiards.

Jfl truck driver would be a decent job pay wise, but it's certainly not easy and takes a ton of skill. Gotta have a cdl too. Agree with your main point though that not having a high school diploma is gonna heavily restrict your job options and he should graduate
