My main concern is pretty much if I’m going to die but the fatality rates look pretty good. 2020 had 1.4 million active service members and 1014 died, and only 46 were due to violence (317 due to accidents, 190 due to illness, 406 due to suicide, 58 undetermined / pending)
This means as long as I don’t kill myself the chance I die to actually combat (counting homicide and hostile combatants) is about 46/1,400,000 or 0.00328571%
So it seems pretty safe, if I don’t get into a good university this seems like the best option.
