should i get a palate expander at almost 18?

My palate is a little bit narrow, enough that i have a scalloped tongue and i don't have enough room for my tongue on my roof, I also do have a deep bite . I am 17 (18 in july) although i hit puberty at 15. should i consider consulting a dentist about it? how much can it change my bone structure cus i dont want to look like a orge after getting that. I have a forward grown maxilla and i really don't want that like braces if the expander can force my maxilla backward

I've had an expander before. Yes it can definitely make a positive change in your facial look, however its really fucking annoying to have in your mouth. It takes up a ton of space, food gets stuck in it easily, and for the first two weeks you have to tighten it every day, which causes discomfort. Do what you will with this info
