should I get a perm?

My barber said I have straight and thick hair and suggested i get a perm to add more volume and texture. Do you think I can achieve this hairstyle? Also what do you suggest I do before and after to get the best results? My biggest concern is hair damage and frizz, does anybody know how to avoid that?

yea you can get diff types of perms according to how curly or wavy you want it.
Perms just make your hair dry so I'd advise you to moisturize it a lot afterwards with some oils and very very light shampoo
