Should i get mse

I’m 16 right now, I took off my braces and got my retainers a few months ago. The problem is that I think the braces recessed my mandible or it was already recessed or something. Anyways I have an appointment coming up soon and I’m thinking of having MSE. Would it help with my mandible? Or will it just affect my palate?

it affects mainly your palate and maxilla hence the name maxilla skeletal expander basically for every couple millimeteres of palatal expansion your maxilla follows unfortunately it does not cause forward maxillary growth only widens the jaw from the front which gives cheekbones which can be good, if your mandible is recessed i dont recommend doing MSE otherwise it will ruin aesthetics you should get double jaw surgery in that case or a mandibualr advamcenent appliance if bones are still malleable
