Recently paid £500 for Enlighten teeth whitening, apparently the most effective teeth whitening system on the market. It’s helped but I don’t think they’re white enough or stand out. Worth getting veneers instead?

It depends on what your aesthetic goals are.

Veneers can truly transform someone's smile. They come in different sizes, shades, lengths, and materials, which means you can customise them to whatever aesthetic goal you desire - big, small, natural, or more augmented (they call it the 'Hollywood' smile).

The only drawback of veneers - whether porcelain or composite - is that they typically only last ten to fifteen years, which means that it's a life-long process and investment. You will need to repeat the process of changing all of your veneers several times in your lifetime.

Also, you teeth will be permanently shaved down to fit the casing of the veneer over your natural tooth. There's no going back one this occurs.

It's up to you whether this is or isn't a concern.

Your teeth, now, don't have any significant staining, are look to be in the correct place. You could consider something like dental bonding to help enhance your teeth - it will fill in any gaps, and can make your teeth appear more uniform. There's no cutting or shaving of the teeth involved, which is a plus.

Thanks for the reply. I’ll have a look into dental bonding. I’m really, really iffy about getting my teeth shaved down.

All good son.

I know man, I'm in the same boat. When you look at images of what the pre-veneers teeth shaving looks like, it's truly horrific....

I really feel like having great teeth just ups your SMV a lot. Take two average looking men, one with meh teeth and the other with straight, really white teeth, the one with the better teeth just signals to people he takes care of himself and his appearance which is attractive.

Thinking like this I tried professional whitening, and it definitely worked, but they don’t stand out in conversation as much as veneers would so you’re not sending those signals as well that you take care of your appearance.

Its probably not worth it. There’s better ways to signal, like with perfect, glowing skin. Probably just gonna get them straightened, whiten them at home, and get dental bonding.

Agreed man.

But your teeth don't have any significant dental deformities or misalignments, which is good. Honestly man, look into dental bonding, or even perhaps a treatment with Invisalign to really perfect your dental alignment. But like I said, you don't have anything to really worry about with your teeth.
