A little bit about myself: I'm 18 currently teaching myself how to program, I'm interested in joining college this autumn, but unsure if I should do so firstly, I'm not a Chad so I won't stand out, lastly my grades in highschool were unimpressive as fuck.

I'm interested in med school particularly, and graduating college is a prerequisite for a medical career path.

I am currently in college and am now taking additional courses so I can have a chance at a decent job after I graduate. unless its absolutely necessary I wouldnt reccomend it. once the novelty of freedom and all that wears off being a student can suck. I wish I was working instead, moneymaxxing is everything but you dont realise it until its too late.

Can't you moneymaxx as a scholar by selling addy, and working part time jobs? What are you majoring in?

I have a car and like to go out drinking and socialising. I work part time now and did sell stuff including addy over the lockdowns. but getting a full time income and enjoying yourself at the same time is impossible as a student. I study law.

Why law? Medical school sounds more fun than law school. Are you going to become a judge?

Yeah, sacrifices are made during college
I am in the UK, law degrees are a lot less impressive here. I want to work in tech after I graduate jfl. I was too lazy in school I probably could have studied medicine if I actually put in effort but it simply is what it is. college might not be as fun as you think if you are studying something difficult like medicine.

Also had unimpressive but not completely awful grades in high school cause I was incredibly unmotivated.

Go to community/junior college for now, trust me. It will be a shitshow and big waste of money if you don’t

Where I live University is free so its a no brainer tbh. Working sucks because your social circle gets obliterated and cucked if you're in a field with oldcels or a rotter profession like programming. IIt's an avenue to establish valuable connections, a large social circle, qualifications and have lots of fun partying (especially now after covid)

My parents are broke+I'll be going to a cc, so I'll be receiving student aid, and if I graduate cc I get a couple thousand.

Where I live uni is very expensive people usually take out loans

I can confirm; oldcels and youngcels have nothin in common.
a rotter profession like programming.
I'm considering this.

I feel like this will be hindered for me.

If you make it through community college on schedule you can still be young when you go to a 4 year college for your last 2 years then join a frat and party it up. Then by the time those 2 years are up you will have gotten your fill of that lifestyle anyway and be left with tons of friends/connections

I'll be leaving after a year hopefully. Plan on getting all A's doing well on the SAT and ACT, then apply for a 4 year uni the year after.
