I think the quickest way to get in the shit without prior military experience would be to join the marines, but still the chances you will actually fight are pretty low. Plus the US military isnt exactly always on the moral high ground, you would probably get in some situations that you wouldnt like

Delta Recruits from all services mostly guys from Tier 2 Special Forces units ,You'd have to join Tier 2 unit first and do some time there before attempting Delta Selection.
