Should I keep my teeth together or will my teeth corrode? If I don't, will my face slowly melt?

The "face melting" from wisdom tooth removal isn't as drastic as from mouth breathing as a kid but a lot of people do have a noticeable change. Mostly the jaw becoming narrower.

Because you removed bone from you face that was supposed to be there.
If you removed your chin and cheek bones, it would also look like your face melted.
