Should I not use cleanser?

I started off using a cleanser twice a day, and then i switched to using it in the night only. And recently, I'm currently in a different country and i haven't been using a cleanser at all, and my acne is clearing up. (i'm still using moisturizer)
So is no cleanser valid?
