Hey guys, Ive been wearing braces for 1.5 years. I naturally have a very wide smile, and straight upper teeth, but I had an overbite and also crooked lower teeth.

After removing braces, my dentist put a metal wire behind my lower teeth, thus keeping results permanent. The question is does it limit my forward growth when mewing?

i dont mind having crooked lower teeth though, as long as i have better facial development.

Mewing doesn't work, It's cope
If you remove the metal wire, your teeth will shift again
I'm against the metal wire as a form of retainer, so I would suggest going to your dentist and asking to make a clear retainer and remove the wire
Keep in mind if you don't have a retainer (clear like invisilign or the metal wire you already have) your teeth will shift back and be crooked again
So ask for a clear retainer and wear it EVERY night for the rest of your life

rip that fucking cage off your mouth, it halts ALL forward growth, think of it acting as a giant metal fence surrounding your palate, how can your palate expand with a giant metal fence holding it in place?

Why mewing is cope if it is what’s practiced by most people here and generally recommended by Dr Mike Mew? Isnt it that resting your tongue on palette over time will lead to changes?

Good posture doesn’t lead to changes. It just prevents deterioration that’s all
