I’ve been thinking about switching to online school since it seems much easier and I’m not extremely social either way. I take hard classes like a retard, so I’d think going to online school and taking regular classes would be better, especially because I’m probably just going to community college either way. Online schoolgoers, is it worth it?

Online school is a double edged sword. On one hand, it's easier and lets you sleep when you want, but on the other hand it requires enough discipline to get it done and also is gonna kill off any chances you had to make friends or get a gf in school

I’m not totally asocial. I have friends in a lot of my classes but outside of school I only hang out with a select few, and usually even then it’s around once a week if not longer between that. I would be worried that I wouldn’t be able to talk to the girl I like but I only have 1 class with her and I think I’ve spoken ~2 times in person with her and 0 times 1 on 1 with her in person so I may as well remain KHHV in the comfort of my room.

I just feel like the convenience is so nice. I can do my work whenever I want, stay up for however long I want without being late the next day. I do worry I’ll become even more socially retarded, but I don’t really care. The discipline part worries me a bit, as I hardly even do classwork nowadays. I just rely on test grades, which i may not be able to do in online school.

You can cheat on online school way easier than anyone my age could thanks to ai and the internet being great for this anymore. But yeah the social implications are a major downside

if you are failing real school, switching wont help.
you are likely unmotivated and will drag your feet thru this too.

i’m not failing at all i just think it would be more freeing. I prosper in terms of academics and grades but going to school makes me feel depressed. Not because of social pressure or anything. I just can’t bear being in school for so long. I can’t go anywhere, and I just don’t feel that I can do anything.

(This response is somewhat of a rant, so don’t feel obliged to read any of it). That was my biggest concern. I’ve had 2 friends who went to online school. One of them kept in contact with his close friends from school and we played games online very frequently. However, I don’t believe we’ve EVER talked in real life. We were in similar social circles but we never ended up in conversation. He went back to real school recently, but I found that my life was better without talking to him, as he was the kind of person to annoy you on purpose or just talk to you simply to provoke a reaction. Because of this, I cut him off. As for the second friend: I have talked to my other friend in real life, but much much less than I have online. We slowly drifted apart, and we haven’t talked in some time. He was supposed to go back to school, but he only went for a couple months. I haven’t seen him for some time. I feel that as long as I can hang out with my friends consistently I probably won’t fatigue a lot socially. This shouldn’t be a very large problem, as I have hung out a decent amount with friends from other schools, meaning it shouldn’t be very much different.

read it all

i dont know your exact circumstance so its on your judgement. if you believe you still be able to maintain adequate social circles and friendships and your online diploma and is seen as equivalent to a real one to colleges i don't an issue. but you are the only one who can comprehensively judge your situation and make an appropriate decision.

I switched from normal school to homeschooled this week, I kind of regret it, but now I have a lot of spare time, so that's good

having spare time is the main reason why i want to switch, but a large issue is what I would do with my spare time. the odds are i would spend most of it rotting in my room, like I already do. But i suppose that a large part of homeschooling / online school is being able to maintain social relationships.

not worth it

how old are u rn and whats ur rating and race

you will become a massive degenerate thats what happened to me
I don’t think I would become a degenerate. I’d hope I wouldn’t fall into degeneracy, that is. I suppose it would depend on what you think a degenerate really is. I suppose that if you would say that spending all of your in your room is the behavior of a degenerate, I already could be considered a degenerate. If you mean a degenerate as in a porn addict or gambler, I don’t know if I could become that sort of degenerate.

I went to online school for a year. If you don't get bored easily definitely try it. It's a lot easier. In my country you just have to take 3 tests per year so the academic pressure isn't as much. Plus listening in class is so repetitive, from experience learning at home is easier

I do think the academic relief is probably nice. I like your tag, have you seen welcome to the NHK?

Yes, I graduated from homeschool
It’s a really good decision because personally for me I just couldn’t learn anything at a public trashy ass school. Only problem is that you might have to take some exams if you wanna go to college to prove that you are smart enough for English and math
