should I train my masseters with inward gonions?

I have inward gonions, but my face isn't really that round. I'd say because I have pretty good lateral zygomatic arches that project a good amount, that I have close to a diamond face shape.

But people on tiktok and shit say you'll look perma bloated by training masseter if you have inward gonions. I have a decent gonial degree, and an OK ramus length. I just think one of the biggest things holding me back is my lower third because of this. Because of chewing on my right side during adolescence, my right masseter is bigger than my left, and the right side of my face is puffier/less angular and defined than my left.

Should I train my masseters, or try to keep them smaller. I'd also like to know if I can shrink my right masseter, or both of them so that I can be more even and defined. The only thing I've heard of is shrinking the muscle with botox injection but I haven't seen anyone talking about it much on here at all.

and if it isn't true, why does the right side of my face always look puffier than the left?? I chewed on the right most of my childhood, and the right side of my face looks objectively worse than the untrained side.

correlation doesn't always lead u to the cause, masseter hypertrophy is gunna ascend u anyways

even with the goal of obtaining hollower cheeks? I'm just not too educated on this subject so not sure what to actually trust and what has research/what is proven.

yeah no prob buddy boyo just chew till they seem visually symmetrical, also be careful as most masseter asymmetries are caused by a narrower side of a palate, im gunna get marpe soon cuz of this.

When I first started looksmaxing the first thing I did was grow my masseters and it was the best thing ever. They gave a lot of angularity to my jaw and gave me hollow cheeks. idk what caused you to appear bloated, maybe muscle insertions but idk

If they get large enough they will likely look like fat an/or shitty because of the roundness they’ll start building up when enlarged.

It’s 100% going to depend on specific Anatomy and exactly how large they are. Most people won’t have issues, a small subset will.

For example o’Conor looks like shit even though he likely has decent anatomy for them. They are simply too big.

Only thing I can think of (which is why I asked, because I wasnt sure if it was this that causes it) is my inward gonions. I have some excess subcutaneous fat that makes my face look puffy, which I plan on fixing.

I tested myself, and I definetely have good muscle insertions. The mass of the muscle when flexed is on the bone, slightly above being directly on the side of the gonions (which to my information, is a good muscle insertion.). Without a doubt, my right masseter is more trained than the left, being bigger and actually visibly flexing more prominent than my left (barely). The right feels much more smoothed out but larger. The left, when flexed, is smalled and more rigid I guess?? Definitely due to prefering to chew with my right during adolescense.

My main question is do you think the right side of my face is puffier because of this, or other reasons? And to balance them out, should I train the other side, or if it'll make me puffy, should I slim the right side with Botox?

Yeah this is kind of the answer I was looking for. I will look more into it, but thanks.

The proof I have that it will make me puffy is that the right side of my face is a tiny bit puffier than the left, and I chewed with my right most of my adolescence (as long as I remember). Past year or year and a half ive been aware and trying to chew with the left more/ both sides.

My question is, do you think I should slim them with Botox? I have well developed lateral zygomatic arches that are slightly prominent, which I've heard that, with a jaw not very wide, it messes up your bigonial width. But I see people with less than ideal bigonial widths and they're generally seen as very attractive (ex. the dude in my pfp, archie.). My Cheekbones look a lot like his, very slightly less prominent and not as big, but actually very close.

The reason I think I should try to shrink them is due to the fact that the left side of my face is obviously more angular (not by a huge noticeable margin), and personally I think it looks better.

Thank you for taking this thread seriously! Really love to see when the community can actually do what it was made to do.

Yeah tbh this may be a problem. Unilateral chewing during childhood could have caused narrower palate. I've noticed that the right side of my face is asymetrical with the left slightly. It's all by fractional margins, hardly even noticeably when I look at it trying to examine it.

Right eye is fractionally higher than the left, zygo seems fractionally less developed/prominent (not sure if I'm just making myself feel or see things because my brain tricks me into thinking its worse than it is), nose slightly asymetrical towards the left. I did a little research, sounds like it may be right lol.

Thank you so much for bringing this up!

But I'm only sixteen right now. I was a late bloomer so I'm probably in the middle (closer to the starting side) of puberty right now. I can't really get a MARPE right now I don't think. How would I convince parents to let me get one, and are there any alternatives I can try in the meantime to get a jump start on fixing this issue?

I Botox mine it reduces the puffy/fatty look. Obvi if this was fat, Botox would not help. It requires a lot of units however.

actually u literally described my and million's of people's asymmetry prob, word by word, and what ever anybody tells u about fascia release like jester copel or mewology jfl at them and desubscribe already.

but basically even marpe might not fix the whole asymmetry problem but who cares if u mog no one is gunna notice so just make sure u really have a narrow palate, like do you have a V or U shaped palate and if you have any crookedness in yo teeth or any crowding should be good signs, if not jfl i don even know what is ur case so yeah hope ur ok.
