should I wear elastics to fix overbite? more info in desc

So I am 17 and have had braces since 13 years old. They told me I'm in the final stages of it around a year ago and gave me some elastics to wear but thats when I found out they can recess your maxilla. Given that info, I decided not to wear them but this ended up putting me in a double jeopardy because every 6 weeks when I would go in for my appointments they would keep telling me that braces won't be over until my overbite is good. So this gives me 2 bad options: 1. wear the elastics according to the instructions and risk getting an even flatter maxilla and get the braces off soon or 2. keep skipping on wearing the elastics and convince them to just end the braces treatment.

Im researching a way to fix overbite naturally, also fix reccesion, crowding, down swing, deficit posterior maxilla and some other stuff like uneven bite which might be possible

I made a thread on elastic and braces, just be sure to have good tongue posture and if you scared to maybe some thumbpulling. It will counteract the little force of the elastics on your maxilla and just bring your lower jaw forward

Just take the risk? Even in the worst case scenario there's always LeFort surgery
