Or would it grow naturally through compound movements ?
 
compound movements for core is cope besides maybe strength, my core transformed drastically once i targeted it

just hanging straight leg raises couple sets till failure and stomach vacuums are good too takes a lot of practice tho
and for side abs ?
 
only if u have good insertions and bone structure otherwise you'll end up like chul soon
How to deduce insertion ? Do you just need to cut down to a low bf and see ?
 
get lean + oblique pump and you'll see how they fill out

hard to be aesthetic unless lower rib cage at least aligns with the iliac crest, then the muscle will fill out nicely

Yes it seems like it aligns so I’ll cut down and see then.
