Is it aesthetic to have big traps? Feel like it could male your neck look bigger but it could also make your shoulders look narrower...

Nah it looks very bad imo, it for sure made my shoulders look narrower.

You should train your traps just like any other muscle group bro, especially since you are natty your traps won't be overdeveloped fortunately for you.

Just obviously keep in mind to hit shoulders the most, though in comparison to any other muscle group. Aslong as you got borderline overdeveloped side delts you are fine.

Also no, it doesnt make your shoulders look narrower.

It made mine look narrower tho maybe because i spammed it the most and also cause of newbie gains probably.

So you shouldn’t train traps on roids?

To some degree and depending on what you want to look like. If you want a masculine, powerful, "I can fuck you up" look you should.

The "power" muscles, those which show even when you're wearing a shirt and that instinctively signal someone is probably dangerous and very physically capable are the shoulders, traps, neck and forearms, if you develop these proportionally to your physique you will enhance your masculine appearance and probably have less people trying to mess with you.

However, of course, if you over do it, specially with your neck and traps it's not gonna look good. If I were you I would train them twice a week and once I get them to a size you like, just train them with more intensity but less volume once a week to maintain the muscle.

I feel like they are already somewhat developed even tho I never hit them directly. Some days after I hit shoulders I am sore in my traps too. I think I will start training but not too much

It didn't make your bideltoid look narrower, it was like that to begin with (not in a disrespect way don't interpret it wrong).

Proportions are mostly about angles, traps and your bidelt look more compact depending on your posture and the angle etc.

And I have to add: Even on roids most people won't have overdeveloped traps aslong as they train everything else that hard and frequently too.

If we look at pro-bodybuilders for example, they don't lower the volume for their traps or there are only very rare cases where some bodybuilders did that.

That's like saying your forearms grow because you constantly grip something though. For them to hypertrophy drastically you have to do 1-2 exercises atleast, be it in form of compound or "isolation" exercises. Isolating the traps is hard though yeah, the rear delts support them in most movements

They'll grow no matter what you do since they have so many androgenic receptors and act as stabilizers for pretty much any lift you do

Mixed opinions on this, some might say big traps will take attention away from your shoulders,some say it will enhance them even more. What I've seen is a lot of people say if you don't train traps, then you will have a "dorito back", which essentially is considered more aesthetic.

The second has bigger traps than the first.
Honestly it would depend on what you like, obviously train your traps so much that you don't look like a twink.

However it all depends. Let's take the example of Dorian Yates

Clearly his waist his big so he does not have perfect tip top genetics. But look at his shoulders. They are CAPITAL HUGE BOYO. Despite not having a top 0.01% waist he pulls off having a V taper along with big traps because again his shoulders are HUGE.

My point is, take all muscle insertions and body ratios into consideration. As for aesthetics, it's your choice

Traps is a lookism. Go to faceapp and see how it makes your traps bigger and makes your smv better

I never do traps or legs... If your goal is the same as mine, there's no need to do any of them. I work on a gym, even my colleagues get mad when i say i dont do legs :feelskek::feelskek:.

Mid and lower traps growth are essential to add width to your physique, alongside lateral and rear delts

For the upper traps it will depends of your starting base and clavicles length. No need to do shrugs, exercises like snatch grips upright rows, snatch grips high pulls and snatch grip deadlift will gives better results for your width
Plus if you're natty the traps will not grow that much...

Not at all, its not something girls go for
Its something that makes ur frame shorter
Just dont train them
U will "slightly" train them with lateral raises but dont target them specifically

I never do traps or legs... If your goal is the same as mine, there's no need to do any of them. I work on a gym, even my colleagues get mad when i say i dont do legs :feelskek::feelskek:.

I do train legs because i also play football but i skip them a lot. Legs is not that important but dont skip them always probably. At some point it starts to look goofy

Yeah I also played football, cause of it they used to be ripped af, like you have no idea how defined they were, now that i stopped playing they r losing definition, but they have relative good size so I just dont worry about em for now.

Legs should be trained as a form of MetCon H.I.I.T cardio style like yk hill sprints kettlebell swing and hundreds of deep bodyweight squats
Useful for clapping cheeks

Im a boxer, in my hypertrophy training all I do is neck exercises, shoulder and lat. weighted shadowboxing for more endurance then muscle. Idc abt size only aesthetics

Sometimes I do crossfit with some of my colleagues, thats the maximum extent I do for my legs, but never hypertrophy.
