Is 20lbs good enough for lat raises?

I'm planing to do reps of 10-15 with 3 sets slow and steady. Should get some decent gains with good ROM. Agree or disagree?

Lat raises are good but I'd also recommend Dumbell pullovers + Shoulder press if you don't already do them (y)

I wish tbh, I'm home-gym maxing so I don't have much at my disposal.

Yeah man I know the struggle, it's still infinitely better than doing nothing though :ogre:. Also calisthenics can actually take you pretty far if you're doing proper progressions (y)

What would suggest for a calisthenics routine if you have the time?

Get your overhead press to 200 lbs and you'll have big shoulders.

If you're looking for death star delts, then you're going to need to start injecting steroids.

no, that's girl weight. if you want big delts, you'll have to use 50+

I'm a beginner bro plus I'm trying to get the range of motion right. If I can do 20lbs with 1-2 second passes correctly then I should get some good gains.

sure you will get bigger but if you want big shoulders 20 lbs won't cut it

Yea ik, in the future I would like to progressive overload enough so that I can reach the 50lbs threshold later.

Heavy barbell overhead press
mostly works the front delt, not good for widthmaxxing, won't give your delts the 3d look either

20lb is quite a lot of good slow, time under tension lateral raises. I say go 10-15lb and do 20 slow lateral raises for 3 sets. For me I train shoulders and they blow up. Even elite bodybuilders use 10-15lb for lateral raises.

Also, the guy saying 50lb for later raises :lul: He doesn't know what he is talking about. If your an actual beginner, 10-15 is a good dumbbell weight and move up to 20lb when your comfortable. Getting past 30lb on lateral raises are pretty uncommon unless they are shit form reps.

Aren't the rear delt and ride delt the best for 3d delts?

Try handstand pushups. Since you are gym maxing at home. You really need to be doing heavy pressing for decent shoulders as a natural.

If you want aesthetic shoulders, lateral and rear delt raises should be your main focus. Of course you can overhead press too, just know that these hit mainly the front delt which are also hit by flat/incline presses.

I'm gonna attempt that, though I'm a beginner and can only do it with assistance from the wall.
I feel like the shoulder press is the same movement. Do you have a barbell?

Yeah lateral raises are all about form and mind muscle connection, 20 pounds is plenty to start with. Do rear delt flys too, very important for 3D shoulders. In fact hitting back exercises in general is very important for rear delt development

Behind the neck press + Lu Raises + Face pulls = God tier shoulder hypertrophy + God tier shoulder complex mobility

Start with low weights and progress slow because tendon/ligaments adaptations take more time than muscle adaptations

bro how is the angle from your shoulder up to your traps legit 45 degrees lmao, your shoulder and your neck are literally one singular body part it's over

I’m literally posting from an 18 year old girls bed, I think I’ll be ok
