RE has shifted to a less scary and more action-filled tone.

James Sunderland is the perfect character with perfect writing
Never played anything so incredibly terrifying
The game genuinely makes you feel lost, isolated, and unnerved constantly.

Akira Yamaoka made the best soundtrack for the game. If you've watched scary videos or disturbing content, you have definitely heard Silent Hill music.
So beautiful and meaningful.

The story of James guilt and the amount of symbolism is so unnerving and amazing once you understand what it means.

Pyramid Head is nightmare fuel.

RE basically went the transition of Alien ---> Aliens. The first movie Ripley is scared of one Xenomorph, but the sequel she's more competent and treats them like fodder. That's Jill from RE1 ---> RE3. It's Action Camp Horror with agents and superpowers, so not really the same genre.
