About two weeks ago I began to formulate thoughts and reflect on my incessant desire to be rich and successful and I came to the conclusion, in line with my atheistic position, that this desire serves, to a large extent, to keep me constantly occupied with feelings related to happiness and excitement in order to ensure, as much as possible, that I don't repeatedly conclude that the life of a human being has no universal purpose. In other words, the reason I want to be rich is to have the ability, within the society we live in and according to the tools it provides us with related to leisure activities and the like, to keep myself occupied in such a way that I don't feel the need to do that kind of thinking, even if I already possess such knowledge. About two days ago I saw on a tiktok post an existing theory of philosophy that was based on exactly this kind of thinking and opinion. I forget the name of the philosophy that reflects on this.
Although I realize that I have the ability to analyze certain human interactions and attitudes in this way, if I had the choice, I would prefer to have a brain that is better suited to solving exact and logical problems in the sciences such as mathematics and physics and chemistry since, in the world we live in, it is more useful to possess this kind of intelligence since the tests we are put to during our education at school and in the world of work are related to these topics because they are more in line with the evolution of the human being and the advancement of technology, issues of vital concern in today's world. Those who have a dominant brain when it comes to calculating subjects tend to be more successful because our society is currently designed in a way, perhaps unintentionally, that people with these abilities fit in better with the development of humanity and people as citizens. Therefore, although these philosophical reflections may require a great deal of critical thinking and existential intelligence, they can be seen as irrelevant to the survival and evolution of the human being since, in concrete terms, they don't add anything significant to the daily lives of most humans, although our existence is an incessant search for a non-existent goal, the society in which we live effectively has a kind of false purpose and these thoughts can still often be seen as something negative and pessimistic, a behavior adopted only by losers to find an excuse for failure when, in fact, it is not so.
I often look around and realize that teenagers my age are preoccupied with the wrong things and put their focus and attention on ephemeral and unnecessary things for their future, at least in the society we live in. They don't have the ability to visualize society as a whole or that every action they take has an impact on their future and they should start from an early age to cultivate and make the right choices for their success (when I say success, I mean the success that exists in the society in which we live, since it doesn't exist universally, at least for me). They don't have the capacity to reflect on any topic philosophically or to distinguish between evolution as a citizen in society and the questioning of greater things. Basically, they don't realize that life is a journey and that all actions should be seen as something objective and that, in the future, whether brief or distant, they contribute to themselves. They only have the ability to live in the present and overcome obstacles and situations that they encounter according to the consequences closest to the present moment, whether positive or negative. They don't even think about the meaning of life and humans, they just unconsciously accept the society in which they live because they don't have the ability to question it and see it differently, and also because that's the way it has to be. Basically, they have a very limited perception that is nothing more than choosing according to current obstacles and following life as it happens. Many people don't even get to the point of questioning and looking at human existence in a different way. And that's a source of frustration for me, but it shouldn't be because that's how genetics works and it seems that humans are stuck in an infinite programmed loop of everyday life that doesn't allow them to acquire a different way of thinking. I want to make it clear that this last sentence of mine is not meant to convey a point of view similar to that promoted by “alpha” males on social media such as “escaping the matrix”, but rather the fact that it doesn't cross humans' minds that everything can be meaningless. It doesn't even cross their minds to question things philosophically, not because they don't want to, but because it just doesn't seem to happen.
