Why do people overrate height so much and claim to be much taller than they are? They are contributing to the inflation in height. I don't understand the mental masturbation behind every other kid claiming to be 6'2 minimum these days. Anyone who is actually 6'3 barefoot knows that every region except for countries like the Netherlands, will feel like the Philippines. Being too tall can actually be detrimental to your attractiveness. From observation, ideally you'd want to be any where from 5'10 to 6'3 barefoot.

I'm making this thread because I genuinely can't tell if people who say 6'6 is the ideal height are being sarcastic or not because of frequently it is brought up in serious tones, and statistics mentioning that the ideal height is 6'6 seems a too absurd to me. While height matters and is arguably on par if not more important than your facial attractiveness, being extremely tall HAS to have a negative impact on your attractiveness. Not a single girl I've actually spoken to in real life or online, excluding TikTok comments, have mentioned anything about liking guys taller than 6'4 (Yes, I know that 6'4 is still insanely tall but out of the thousands of girls I've spoken to, I've only seen 1 liking guys as tall as that, and that too, it was through a repost where other traits were mentioned), but every girl has mentioned that their ideal height is in between 5'10 to 6'3, which in comparison, is somewhat realistic and achievable.

TL;DR: 5'10-6'3 should be considered ideal height instead of 6'6

In my experience, women seem to like 6´6 men as much irl. A girl in my class used to date this guy she hated only because he was 196. I don't think its the ideal height regardless, 6'4-6'5 probably is. The reason people think 6'6 is the ideal is because its usually seen as the least filtered out height for dating app data.

Some girls lean into a niche of wanting abnormally tall men, but those who prefer 6'2 to 6'4 rarely care to exclude that height, also because its seen as a status symbol in a sense. Even if you think 5'10 and 6'6 is equally attractive, its societally seen as better to be a with a taller man so they likely get more leway. So essentially I think 6'4 is probably ideal for general attractiveness, but 6'6 gets a pass for most while also leaning into a niche
