In the United States, single women are leading the way in homeownership, surpassing their male counterparts.

According to a Pew Research Center survey that utilized census data, single women owned 58 percent of the nearly 35.2 million homes owned by unmarried Americans, whereas single men owned 42 percent.

With single women now a dominant force in homeownership, we can expect to see their priorities and preferences reflected in the types of housing options available in the coming years.

Hardly anyone actually owns houses these days though. If you "bought" a house it just means you're enslaved to a mortgage for the next 40 years. Women suck at finances. Also probably a lot of this number is just widows

Men checking out from marriage which normally leads them to a home purchase, divorces, men checking
out of the educational system and better paying jobs considering there is no reward for over achieving used
to be the wife and children
, men seeing that housing is inflated and making a rational choice versus a fomo
choice etc.

This is mostly lazy journalism and statistics with no root-cause analysis. It means nothing to anyone, especially in a
over valued housing market. If said women purchased homes in the last 3-4 years then they're in for a treat either a
crash or a lifetime of debt. Glad to see that for once we're not touting the BS that all women earn less than men
for the same jobs.
