i've had bad skin since 16yo up until 20. it wasn't that bad but like some pimples, maybe some big inflammed ones but it all healed through time and appeared again and again for 4 damn years
i've tried a bunch of routines: dieting for months, applying different shit on my face, supps for skin, checking and fixing hormones, etc
but none has worked for me
ts is injustice and i genuinely hate my skin and face, cus i see 99% people on the street wout any redness and pimples on their face regardless the fact they eat pure shit and know nothing about food
so i just decided to hop on accutane. I'm doing it under doctor's supervision, but anyway give me some advice and your experience - what you do and what you don't do

yeah, some people just produce tons of sebum (theres documented cases of bad and/or cystic acne from way before goyslop) that causes acne even after adjusting for everything. hopping on accutane under proper supervision is the right way to do it, its important to reach a high enough cumulative dose, otherwise acne will just come back. you just need to be careful to not go out into the sun between 10am and 4pm, and always wear sunscreen everyday so you don't get pigmentation or other bs. moisturize properly using someshit like lipikar baume or effaclar h in the mornings or when dry and wash your face obv, otherwise its easy asf accutane does it all for you

You can take it with an antihistamine to help manage sides and reduce the purge.
Ask your Derm about this, there is literature on it they might be familiar with.

No skincare for your acne, but skincare still play a big role in your acne, just use spf50, moisturizer and a cleanser, nothing more.

No shit that the most basic stuff won’t help your acne to its fullest, but it can help to an extent.

From curiosity, how antihistamines helps with mitigating acne’s sides?

I think this is too rudimentary of a perspective.
Sure, sebum production may permanently be inhibited to some extent, and for many who go on to live a stock-standard life, that won't be an issue. Majority of the people on here are interested in using gear, running peptides, etc, which may impact sebaceous gland activity. I think it is always good to have some on hand and switch to a topical retinoid when happy with skin quality from isotretinoin.

you just need to be careful to not go out into the sun between 10am and 4pm, and always wear sunscreen everyday so you don't get pigmentation or other bs. moisturize properly using someshit like lipikar baume or effaclar h in the mornings or when dry and wash your face obv, otherwise its easy asf accutane does it all for you
Going outside is fine, just use sunscreen. Moisturising is important but applying some sort of emollient is actually the most important part for people on isotretinoin so that you can contain moisture. Oil does not moisturise your face; it traps moisture. Many sunscreens will already have emollients anyway.

From curiosity, how antihistamines helps with mitigating acne’s sides?

"At week 12, compared with isotretinoin only group, isotretinoin with additional antihistamine group showed more statistically significant decrease in acne lesion counts (non-inflammatory lesions: 44.8% vs. 17.8%; inflammatory lesions: 55.8% vs. 22.9%; total lesions: 45.6% vs. 18.7%; all P < 0.05). Significant decrease was also observed in the score of global acne grading system and the measured value of sebum and erythema. Moreover, acne flare during the treatment occurred less frequently and adverse events of isotretinoin were more tolerable in additional antihistamine group."

In short, less acne lesions (non-inflammatory and inflammatory), reduced PIE, less flare ups.

Also, ideally eat it with some sort of fat since isotretinoin is fat-soluble.

Watch out for side affects like joint pain, dry lips and skin. Have Vaseline on you at all times, a moisturizer and sunscreen. Avoid more than 30 minutes of sunlight in the day, the duration may change depending on the UV index of your location and what not.
