hi, i own a 0.1% tret cream, a few moisturizers and the Paula's Choice BHA exfoliant liquid, what could be the best routine to have flawless skin? thanks

I generally use spf50, moisturiser in the morning from la roche posay and tret 0.025 from skinorac every night so you can follow that. Since you have 0.1 so if your skin gets irritated then start using it in sandwich method.

"A few moisturizers" like.. Many? Why?

Anyway, all human skin needs cleansing, hydration, vitamin A and sunscreen. The rest is highly dependent on the individual's conditions, or we get from nutrition.

So basically the most basic of skincare routines should include a gentle cleanser, one moisturizer (not a few?), retinoids/vitamin A (which you're already including with tretinoin) and sunscreen. Any other actives or treatments have to be addressed on a case-by-case metric, why are you exfoliating? Does your skin actually need it? Do you have any other skin condition which your current actives (tretinoin, and maybe BHA exfoliator) can't address?

Of course, I don't have the answers to these questions, but you should and if you don't then start answering them. If your skincare routine is just 3 products, and it works for you then there's no need to change it, skin actives and treatments have to move the needle/be high ROI, otherwise you'd just be wasting money for no improvements.

For example, someone with melasma or hyperpigmentation may do: Cleansing, Moisturizer, Sunscreen, Tretinoin (the basics) + Hydroquinone (to address melasma/hyperpigmentation), they don't need a toner or BHA exfoliator or anything like that if their skin doesnt require it. Typically, a good minimalist skincare routine doesn't need more than 3–4 ingredients to be effective.

do u think then just for mild acne and acne scars that
cleansing, sunscreen in the morning
cleansing, moisturizing, vitamin A evening

is good? thanks

It's pretty similar to what I do honestly, my skin's texture really good, I fixed all my comedones, I break out very very rarely and it's usually only if I slack off with my diet or my routine.

AM: Cleanser, vitamin C Serum, Sunscreen
PM: Cleansing, Adapalene 0.1% (used to use Tretinoin, recently changed and haven't noticed any difference), Squalane (as moisturizer, my skin's oily and I haven't found a moisturizer that works well enough for me so I use squalane oil instead, experiment yourself however)
