You have to be ready. No matter what normies say, no matter how much denying and denying they will do about the inevitable, shit WILL hit the fan soon. You must prep so you don't get fucking obliterated in the first 3 days of this.
1. secure firearms and ammunition
In times of societal collapse, personal safety becomes a top priority. owning firearms and sufficient ammunition is the number one tool to provide protection for you and your loved ones:
- choose the right firearm: select firearms that you are comfortable handling and that suit your needs, such as handguns for personal defense, shotguns for home security, and rifles for longer-range protection.
- train regularly: knowing how to safely and effectively use your firearms is crucial. attend training courses, practice regularly at a range, and stay proficient.
- stock up on ammunition: ensure you have an adequate supply of ammunition for each of your firearms. consider the shelf life of the ammunition and store it in a cool, dry place.
- maintenance: regularly clean and maintain your firearms to ensure they function correctly when needed.
3. set up booby traps
You should definitely be setting up traps to cover your property if you cannot be on watch 24/7. Some tips:- strategic placement: place traps in areas where intruders are likely to enter, such as entry points and pathways.
- clear markers: if possible, mark areas that are booby-trapped to avoid accidental injury to yourself or others.
- practice caution: always ensure that family members or trusted individuals are aware of the traps to prevent accidents.
4. build a support network
having a strong community can help you survive tough times. get to know your neighbors and build relationships with people you trust. join local groups or organizations that focus on self-sufficiency and preparedness.5. stock up on essentials
Make sure you have a good supply of non-perishable food, clean water, and basic medical supplies. Aim to have enough to last at least a few months. consider items like:- canned goods
- dried beans and rice
- bottled water
- first aid kit
- over-the-counter medications
6. learn survival skills
You NEED to learn survival skills in a world where basic modern items and comforts are no longer a given.- gardening: grow your own food
- foraging: identify edible plants
- hunting and fishing: source your own protein
- basic first aid: treat injuries and illnesses
- self-defense: protect yourself and your loved ones
7. secure your home
Secure your home immediately after SHTF. Raiders and looters WILL try to come for you. Your neighbors won't give a FUCK about their morals anymore. Your next door neighbor Dave who carpooled your sister to soccer practice? He wants to kill your entire family because of the greenhouse you have in your backyard.- reinforcing doors and windows
- installing security systems
- creating a safe room
- having a plan for evacuating if necessary
8. stay healthy
This is pretty obvious.- stay physically fit
- have a stock of necessary medications
- know how to purify water
9. financial preparation
Regular fiat WILL lose its value in a societal collapse, so here's some things you'll probably need:- precious metals like gold and silver
- barter items (alcohol, cigarettes, etc.)
- useful tools and equipment
10. stay mentally prepared
Stay sane. The three b's I have made up.- board games, cards, etc
- books, magazines, tv (on pre-recorded tapes, probably)
- bonding with family, staying social
11. have a bug-out plan
If things get really bad, you might need to leave your home. Have a plan for where you'll go and how you'll get there. pack a bug-out bag with essentials like these.- food and water
- clothing and shelter
- tools and first aid supplies
