Longtime lurker here.

I was born in an upper middle class household in a non anglo country, went to a private school and then went to a target university to study engineering (a prestigious major where I live, at least from a target uni).

Years ago I was called to be an election monitor with 4 other people, 3 of them women of lower/middle class. Needless to say, people there saw me as a GOD due to my socioeconomic status, and the women would not stop hitting on me even thouh they had bfs! And now that I come think of it, men in my country would sometimes go to lower/middle class clubs to slay the women in there. You instinctively look dowm on them while they look up to you, which creates an interesting power dynamic.

Now, socioeconomic status is a complex thing consisting in household income, education, accent, manners, social circle, etc. I'm not talking about muh instagram followers or any other bullshit that any lower class thug can have, this is the real thing. I could easily go to a middle class social circle an statusmog into oblivion the dude with the most ig followers, because they will easily be able to tell my REAL LIFE status from my manners, accent, clothes, etc., they will ALL look up to me, it happens.

I think you more or less effectively statusmaxx by having a prestigious degree (usually law or a quantitative major, especially from a good uni, to be able to rise in the corporate world or become an entrepreneur), careermaxxing and building your network, if you weren't born in the right family, rather than geting ig followers.

I think you assume people care more than they actually do about things like socio-economic status.

Most people really don’t give af, and live on with their lives, and btw you should avoid those women, they are gold diggers.

Do you reject or avoid making friends with people that have a lower socioeconomic position than you?
I'm friends with a guy from my class who came from a poor background.

Yes that's the only instance in which I've made friends with poorer background, because at least you know they have similar level of education or at the very least interests
