Some people should not be alive due to their poor genetic material

Before the Industrial Revolution, about 50% of children died. There was a harsh Darwinian selection for genes that built healthier people in body and mind. After the Industrial Revolution, life became so comfortable that people with defective genes could survive and reproduce, which gave rise to a generation of unhealthy people.

These people have physical and behavioral flaws that give others a glimpse into their low genetic quality. How can some of you have such a lopsided face, rotten teeth, and bad hair and skin? These are signs of poor genetic quality that would likely get you killed some centuries ago. The reality is that many of us should not be here.

Good thread, it’s true, infant mortality used to be 50% and now it’s like less than 1%

what you're suggesting is that there was a compound 50% increase in quality every single generation for the entirety of human history - yet we're not evolved to 4 dimensional beings, somehow

it was probably mostly pure chance, the bottom 50% didnt just always die out
