Someone needs to tell me how hard and how long i should chew

Im pretty sure i almost teared my asseter yesterday. Orrrrr it was trained till muscle failure. Does that mean that chew till it hurts is actually bullshit?

If you had pain in your ears/top of jaw it means you're getting TMD.
You don't want it.

Well, I have never experienced masseter pain, so it seems kind of odd.

Do you chew with all the force or like you chew food?
I gueds the hsrder thegum themore force it can take. I chewed mastic gum and it was pretty hard. Like 4 extra gums on one side

Thats why I use several hardened gums instead of one.

Alright so you use multiple hard chews so you cann aply full force and you chew fkr an hour. You dont chew fast but instead how you would food.
This makes sense tbh csvemen didnt autisticly hyperchew foood

Force > speed.
I will feel like i will get more gains when chewing 8 instead of 2 gums.

So i should just chew with good force for about an hour then maybe do another session

I'd do session a day, as chewing puts some pressure on the joint.
Put chewing gum in freezing water to make them harder

But why not do 2 sessions if it puts pressures on the joint? How do you know if this is a problem?

It's a problem if you feel pain in the joint, whether you feel it that same day or in the following days

Seems legit but tbh i dont know how bone growth is promoted so maybe 1 hour is best

@SayNoToRotting. Mentioned in a picture i tagged him at that bruxism can give many effects.

The guy had. A huge jaw and probably a narroe palate with Fucked up teeth so it was kinda weird.
So i guess you are right Bout the continuoud forces. But i doubt one long clench like bruxisn is much better than quick hard chews

Bone growth is stimulated besf by weak forces for prolonged periods of time.
Muscle growth is stimulated differently, you can see it by looking at how thin marathon runners' legs are.

Well, I don't know when talking about masseter in particular.

Most muscles have better hypertrophy in the range of 30/40 reps.
People in the gym do fewer reps as it's easier to overload and to bring the workout to an end, and also they probably don't even know about that.

It's been found that when reaching 60 reps hypertrophy seems to reduce by around 50%.

Again I don't know how it would apply to masseters, as I haven't looked into it in detail, but I believe going harder for one hour is more than enough
